The present course is intended for first year students enrolled in the department of Arabic who plan to take a course in the field of language teaching. The principal aim of English for Students of Arabic is to teach students to cope with input texts ,i.e reading and listening, in the field of language teaching. However, writing is not to be overlooked. To this end, the course is meant to help them master the fundamental pillars of the writing skill through a step by step process.The writing section of the course comprises two chapters each of which is meant to cover sentence writing and paragraph writing respectively. In brief, the syllabus focuses on key vocabulary related to the field of language teaching and on words and expressions frequently used in academic English.
