Brief description of the syllabus:
Applied linguistics is a module concerned with the application of linguistic theories in the language classroom to solve real world EFL teaching/learning problems. It links theory (foundational knowlegde) to practice (actual classroom practices).
Target audience:
Fourth year PEF/PES university level at ENS Bouzaréah
General objectives:
To equip prospective teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to pedagogically handle language teaching and learning problems (stressing actual practices and new perspectives). This kind of knowledge is based on linguistic theorires of learning upon which preservice teachers can draw pedagogiclal implications for everyday classroom practices. Besides, the linguistic knowlegde will make pre-servide teachers able to comprehend textbook content and procedures to gather with the relevant approaches and teaching methods.
